Nothing CMF Watch Pro 2

CMF is a sub-brand of Nothing, focused on providing affordable products. So far, it has released around half a dozen items. Last year, the brand launched its first smartwatch, and this summer saw the introduction of its second model – the CMF Watch Pro 2.

We spent a few weeks with the wearable and we are finally ready to share our impressions.

DESIGN

The CMF Watch Pro 2 features a circular display, marking a shift from the rectangular screen of its predecessor. With the original CMF Watch Pro still available, users now have the option to choose between two distinct styles.

The watch is housed in an aluminum case with a matte finish, which gives it a sleek and modern look. However, the "CMF by Nothing" branding on the bezel feels somewhat overdone. Fortunately, the bezel is replaceable, and the watch looks much cleaner without the prominent lettering.

The 1.32" AMOLED display boasts a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels, which is quite solid for its price range. The display size offers a good balance, comfortably fitting most wrists without being too bulky or small.

Interestingly, it's unclear why this model carries the "Pro" moniker. With only two wearables in the CMF lineup, both labeled "Pro," it's not a matter of distinguishing between a regular and superior version. Moreover, the watch doesn’t offer the premium features one might expect from a "Pro" device.

Our review unit came with blue leather straps. Although leather isn’t the preferred material for this reviewer, the strap proved to be surprisingly durable, remaining comfortable and showing no signs of wear after nearly two months of use.

We put the Watch Pro 2 through various activities—swimming, running, rock climbing, and gym sessions—and were impressed by its durability. Neither the case nor the strap sustained any damage, highlighting the product's resilience.

The AMOLED display is vibrant, though the auto-brightness feature can be a bit unreliable, particularly in overcast conditions, where it sometimes dims the screen too much, making it hard to read.

The watch also features a rotating crown that doubles as a button. While an additional button would have been appreciated, the responsive touchscreen largely compensates for this.

SOFTWARE

Although CMF is positioned as Nothing’s affordable sub-brand, the Watch Pro 2 doesn’t feel like a budget product. It not only has an attractive design but also performs well, seamlessly connecting with both Android and iOS devices.

CMF offers hundreds of watch faces, categorized by style rather than functionality, providing plenty of customization options. As expected for a device in this price range, there is no app store, but that’s not a major drawback given the intended audience.

The interface is smooth and intuitive, although the layout may require a bit of adjustment for new users. It offers a refreshing departure from traditional smartwatch platforms, showcasing Nothing's commitment to delivering something unique in both design and experience.
