Vivo appears to be gearing up for the launch of its next-generation V-series smartphone. According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Vivo V60 is expected to launch in India on August 19, 2025, and could be accompanied by the debut of OriginOS based on Android 16.
This new OS could mark a significant shift in Vivo’s software strategy for the Indian market, as OriginOS has so far been exclusive to China, while Indian units typically ship with Funtouch OS.
Vivo V60: Expected Specs & Features
While Vivo has not yet confirmed any official details, the Vivo V60 is rumored to be a rebranded version of the Vivo S30, which was previously launched in China. If this turns out to be true, here’s what we can expect:
• Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4
• Display: 6.67-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with 5,000 nits peak brightness and 3,840Hz PWM dimming
• Cameras: Rear: 50MP primary sensor + 8MP ultra-wide + 50MP periscope telephoto
• Front Camera: 50MP selfie camera
• Battery: 6,500mAh with 90W fast charging
Software: Android 16 with OriginOS (for India launch)
This chipset is a significant upgrade over the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 found in the Vivo V50, promising up to 27% better CPU and 30% faster GPU performance.
Vivo V60 India Launch Date & Price Expectation
• Launch Date: August 19, 2025 (expected)
• Expected Price in India: Around ₹34,999 (similar to Vivo V50 pricing)
• Color Variants & Pro Model: No Pro variant has been tipped yet, but teasers could reveal more in the coming weeks
OriginOS to Debut in India?
Perhaps the biggest surprise in the leak is the claim that OriginOS, Vivo’s China-exclusive UI skin, could replace Funtouch OS in India starting with the V60 series. Built on Android 16, this would introduce a new user experience for Vivo fans in India. However, it’s still unclear whether other Vivo or iQOO models will get the OriginOS upgrade.
In fact, the tipster clarified that the iQOO Neo 9 Pro will not receive the OriginOS update, suggesting the rollout may be limited initially to select Vivo models.
