Apple is gearing up to launch a new iCloud service designed for managing events and invitations. Unlike the existing Calendar app, this new service is set to offer a unique and more engaging way to organize gatherings. According to Mark Gurman on Bloomberg's "On Demand" podcast, the service, codenamed "Confetti", will provide a fresh platform to invite people to parties, functions, and meetings.
The launch of "Confetti" is tied to the release of iOS 18.3, which began rolling out in the final days of January. Early hints of the service were discovered in the OS beta code, indicating Apple’s plans to expand its event management capabilities.
The service is expected to be integrated into the iCloud app and will also feature a web version accessible via iCloud.com. Users will not only be able to send invitations but also track RSVPs seamlessly. Unlike the more formal Calendar app, "Confetti" will likely feature a fun and interactive interface tailored for both social and professional events.
Apple plans to roll out this new service “this coming week”, marking an exciting step forward in making event planning more dynamic and user-friendly.
